Veteran Hunting & Fishing License

- 3/5/2026

1. Discounted Specialty Combination License

Veterans with a service-connected disability of 50% or greater who are Nevada residents and have an honorable discharge (or certificate of satisfactory service) can purchase a Resident Disabled Veteran Specialty Combination Hunting & Fishing License for only $15 per year (plus nominal fees). This combo license covers both hunting and fishing privileges for one year from the date of purchase.

  • To qualify, you must show:
    • Proof of Nevada residency
    • VA disability rating letter (50%+ service-connected)
    • Discharge paperwork (e.g., DD-214)

This license is issued by the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) and must be applied for through NDOW — initial applications for specialty licenses typically must be submitted in person at a Nevada NDOW office before future renewals can be done online.

2. How Long They’re Valid

Both the Disabled Veteran Specialty Combination License and the Serviceman’s Specialty Combination License are valid for one year from the date of purchase.

3. Other Considerations

  • These specialty combination licenses cover general hunting and fishing privileges, but big game hunting still typically requires separate tags (obtained through draw, first-come/first-served, etc.).
  • NDOW licenses and permits must be purchased through NDOW’s online licensing system, in person at NDOW offices, or from authorized license agents.
